How To Save A Lot Of Money When Buying College Textbooks

By Groshan Fabiola College textbooks prices are continuously increasing, and this has become a problem for a large number of students with limited budgets. Students must acquire many textbooks for their studies and with today’s prices the total amount of money that has to be spent on these college textbooks is pretty large and this problem becomes an obstacle in the student’s path to graduation. Therefore many students have begun to consider the textbooks which were once accessible to everybody something unreachable and unaffordable. This is disturbing, and something must be done so that all students can access all the books they need for their education. You may say that there are libraries of course, but libraries have limited amounts of each book and in many cases students can’t take the book at home to study it at their will, they can only read it inside the library, which may be disturbing for students who need privacy to learn. Most of the colleges and governmental institutions don’t do anything to solve this problem and they let students do whatever they can. Therefore, the only solution to this problem is to buy much cheaper books from the students that graduated or don’t need them any longer. This way you get the same books that you need but at prices that everyone can afford. This business is profitable in both ways, because it helps both students who can’t afford to buy all the college textbooks they need and those who don’t need them anymore to sell them and make some profit from something otherwise wasted. If you are interested in buying second-hand college textbooks and saving good money you should visit one of the websites that are specialized in the commercialization of college textbooks. This way you’ll find all the textbooks you need, because these websites have domain categories, where you can search for all the subjects studied in college, from mathematics to biology or astrophysics, and you won’t even leave your house. Also, if you are interested in selling your old college textbooks you can find one of these websites and list the books that you need to sell. Whomever needs one of the college textbooks you are offering can buy it from you with the help of the website. These websites have a search engine that can find any book you need and can also compare the prices of the textbooks and help you find the best deal! Many times college teachers dictate the students what books to buy in order to learn everything about his/her subject and pass the exams. After finding this information out, ask your teacher or a friend that has the book what he book’s ISBN code is. Then type the ISBN code in a college textbooks-selling website and you’ll find the exact same book but at a much lower price. As simple as that! Until the government gives colleges more funds, which isn’t likely to happen in the near future, the method listed above is the best method to get very good prices on college textbooks, so if you are a student that needs textbooks just search for a website that sells them and you’ll save good money So if you want to find out more about textbooks and especially about college textbooks, follow these links, you will also find information for the Dutch versions - studieboeken. Why Are We Overweight?

By S. Wagner You know, there is so much to do about finding a weight loss diet or routine, that many of us completely forget about why we’re overweight to begin with. Maybe if we concentrated on the causes of why we’re overweight, we wouldn’t be overweight to begin with. Well, this article is going to tackle the issue of just why we’re overweight to begin with and maybe if we’re aware of the causes, we won’t have to go on a diet to begin with. One of the main reasons that we’re overweight, especially in the United States, is what we eat. Not how much we eat, but what we eat. The truth is, if we ate the right foods, we could eat as much as we wanted, within reason, and not gain any weight at all above what was our normal weight for our age, height and body type. The problem is, we’re a society that lives at McDonalds. Do you have any idea how many calories are in a Big Mac? Would it shock you to find out that the number of calories in one of those fast food nightmares is almost all the calories we need to maintain our weight for the day. The problem is, we still have two more meals we have to get into our systems. That’s why so many of us are overweight. Maybe if we didn’t live in the fast food establishments we wouldn’t need to diet. Just a thought. Another reason we’re overweight is that we don’t exercise. When was the last time you did anything other than sit at your desk at your cozy little 9 to 5? Most of us haven’t done a sit up since we were in grade school. No wonder we’re overweight. The only way you burn calories is by exercising, and sitting at your desk and typing at your keyboard is not exercise. Well, when we don’t burn those excess calories that we soaked up at McDonalds, those excess calories turn to fat. That fat is not only our excess weight, but also the reason that so many of us are dying from heart disease, diabetes and other ailments related to our diets. And then of course there is the fact that as we get older our metabolisms slow down. That means we don’t burn up as many calories as we used to. When this happens, it means we have to exercise even more and eat even less. Well, we keep eating the way we did when we were 18 but we don’t exercise the way we did at that age. That combination is a deadly one. If we were to just concentrate on those above areas and eat a sensible diet and get enough exercise on a daily basis, there wouldn’t be any need for most of us to go on a diet, except in the rare case where one’s metabolism was so slow that no matter what they did they couldn’t lose weight. But that would be a very small percentage of us and not the millions of people who are walking around overweight as I am writing this. Why are we overweight? You just got the answers. Don’t look so surprised. The Rapture of the Church

By Larry Cockerham The Rapture of the Church will be the most startling event to happen in all of human history. Millions will disappear in “the twinkling of an eye.” Great confusion and bewilderment will occupy the minds of those left behind. Many explanations for the disappearance of those missing will be entertained. In the meantime the Church will have been “caught up” in the air to appear before the Lord at the “judgment seat of Christ” (2 Cor. 5:10). This will be a judgment of rewards based on the believer’s works. It will be a time of great joy for many as they hear the Savior’s “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” (Matt. 25:41). For some it will be a time of shame and regret (1 John 2:28). Many writers see John’s “come up hither” as being typical of the church being caught up at the Rapture with chapters 6-19 disclosing the seven year tribulation. From this point on the Church is not mentioned again until we come to Revelation 19:7, where we see the Church preparing for the “marriage of the Lamb” and her return to earth. According to John F. Walvoord, “The term rapture itself is derived from the Latin Vulgate version of 1 Thessalonians 4:17 where the expression ‘caught up’ is translated by the Latin rapturo.” According to Scripture, the saints living at the time of the Lord’s coming will be translated to meet the Lord in the air. It will be a glorious time of reunion with our loved ones who have gone before us, and best of all, as John proclaimed, “They shall see his face” (Rev. 22:4). No wonder that Paul described the Lord’s coming as the “blessed hope” (Titus 2:13). At the Rapture the Lord will descend bodily in the air for his saints, both for the dead and for the living (1 Thess. 4:16-17). This will be seven years prior to the Revelation or the second stage of His coming. In the first stage at the Rapture the Lord comes for His Church; whereas, at the end of the tribulation period He comes back with His Church. At this event “every eye shall see him” although at the Rapture He will come “as a thief” and only believers will see Him (1 John 3:1-3). At the Rapture the Lord will return to resurrect the dead and translate those saints then living on the earth. Only those who have been born again by the blood of Christ will hear the “shout” that will complete the Church age and begin the Day of the Lord. Our bodies will be fashioned after our Lord’s resurrection body. Although our resurrection bodies will be different in quality, we will be recognizable. According to Allan R. Killen, “Christ arose in the body in which He had suffered, leaving an empty tomb. His new body had ‘flesh and bones,’ and yet, though He was absolutely recognizable, its qualities were gloriously changed. The believer’s new body is not to be ‘flesh and blood,’ for this is the nature of his mortal body. He will be like the angels in that he will neither marry nor give in marriage (Matt. 22:29-30). This new body is described in 1 Cor. 15:35-50.” Paul, writing to the Corinthians concerning the resurrection event, explains: “But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at His coming, Then cometh the end” (1 Cor. 15:23-24). John Phillips comments that “the first resurrection is actually in three stages, corresponding to the stages of the Jewish harvest: (1) the first fruits were reaped and presented to God; then (2) the harvest was reaped; and (3) the gleanings were gathered in. The resurrection harvest will take place at the rapture, and the gleanings will be collected at various times during the great tribulation period.” Within premillennialism there are differing views concerning the Rapture of the Church. The five most common views are (1) the partial-rapture theory; (2) the midtribulation rapture; (3) the posttribulation rapture;(4) the pretribulation rapture; and, (5) the pre-wrath rapture. We will look briefly at each view beginning with the partial-rapture theory. (l) Partial-rapture theory. In this view the issue is not the timing, but the subjects of the Rapture. Advocates of this view believe the Rapture of the believer will be based on reward for the individual’s faithfulness. (2) Midtribulation Rapture. The midtribulation rapture theory seems to be a compromise between the pretribulation and the posttribulation views. According to this view the seven-year tribulation is divided into two halves; the first half described as the wrath of man, and the last half as the wrath of God. The Rapture of the Church will take place at the middle of the tribulation period three-and-one-half years prior to the Second Advent. (3) Posttribulation Rapture. The majority of those holding this view believe the Church will enter the seven-year tribulation and just prior to the Second Advent be raptured and return immediately to the earth with the Lord. Some posttribulationists view the entire present age as the tribulation, although the majority accept the literal interpretation of the tribulation period as a portrayal of actual events preceding the Second Advent. (4) Pretribulation Rapture. According to the pretribulation view of the Rapture, the Church will be translated prior to the seventieth week of Daniel and return with the Lord to the earth at the Second Advent. Hand in hand with this view is the doctrine of imminency, which emphasizes that the Lord can return any moment without regard to signs. All signs are for Israel and therefore relate to the Revelation (Rev. 19:11-21), when He will come with the saints at the end of the tribulation period. (5) Pre-Wrath Rapture. According to the pre-wrath rapture view the church will be raptured three-quarters of the way through the seventieth week between the Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord prior to the outpouring of God’s wrath and before the sounding of the seventh trumpet. This view has been popularized by Marvin Rosenthal, former executive director of Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry. The Rapture is spoken of by Paul in the Scriptures as a “mystery.” Paul states: “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (1 Cor. 15:51-52). This concept was something that was unknown to the Old Testament saints. The general teaching of the resurrection is a well-known fact both in the OT as well as the NT. The fact that saints will be alive at the Second Advent is also a well-known doctrine. Yet as Walvoord states: “The precise mystery is the added revelation of the fact of translation without dying in connection with the coming of the Lord.” According to Donald W. Burdick, “the NT concept of the ‘mystery’… [is] a divine truth, formerly hidden but now supernaturally revealed to men, which can be fully understood only by the saved individual through the illumination of the Holy Spirit.” Many students of the Word still neglect the New Testament doctrine of the Rapture of the saints. Finally, a word concerning date setting. Jesus told His disciples: “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only” (Matt. 24:36). David Allen Lewis states: “The Rapture will be an escape, but the doctrine is not for escapism.” We can avoid the “escapist” mentality and yet still be vigilant in our endeavors to make known this vital truth. Let us realize the urgency of the hour that we are living in, and make the most of every opportunity God sends our way. Paul states: “Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:12-13). Rev. Larry W. Cockerham is best known for his prophetical teaching ministry based on the inspiration and authority of the Bible. The foundation of his ministry is helping others understand the Scriptures as they relate to the “blessed hope” (Tit. 2:13). Bro. Larry graduated from Andersonville Baptist Seminary with a Bachelor of Theology degree and is presently working on his Masters of Theology. He has been teaching and preaching Bible prophecy, typology and related studies in churches for over twenty-four years. He has written one book: Revelation: Prophetic Addresses to the Seven Churches, Vol. 1 and is the editor of Prophecy Forum Newsletter, a monthly ezine which includes Bible studies related to Biblical prophecy, eschatology and endtime studies as well as news from Israel by Jerry Golden. Sexual Content of Advertisement

By Sharon White Along with the IT development and globalization, the sexual revolution took place. About 50 years ago the word sex publicly was used only in terms of gender. The movies did not contain sexual images of any kind. However, business people came to realize that sex content helps to sell products. Now, almost every advertisement contains sex or is sexually oriented. Sex sells. This essay will look how marketers use sex. It will discuss how the sexual imagery is communicated to its receivers and how the imagery gives us the desire to buy. It will also consider the ethics involved with the use of such imagery The use of sexual imagery to sell products is very frequent. However to understand why it is used so often, we must first look at the actual communication process itself. All marketers and advertisers have to assess how they are going to put across their message and to which media. Each form of media the marketers use can provide an advantage and disadvantage in terms of their target audience. For example noise in the commutation process may affect the actual way in which the message is put across and to whom. The intended receiver maybe on the phone or in a conversion with another person whilst the marketer’s message is being shown on television. However a press advertisement may have similar problem as advertisements may go unnoticed due to the competitiveness of editorials. So the choice of media is important It is wise for company to encode a good solid message that will go along with what is expected. Although a change from the norm is sometimes needed. The most important part of the communication process is the “decoding” of the message. How the receiver decode the message is very important to their views and feedback. However it is important for the marketer to realize that each person will decode it differently. Lets take for example the lynx adverts of the late 90’s. This has men attracting the opposite sex very successfully whilst they are wearing this product. This advert to men may appeal. Yet to some men and mainly women they may see it as just a cheap brand of perfume that certainly wouldn’t attract. The same would go for a company who makes unrealistic claims. Lets take for example “The most successful ever hair replacement treatment” maybe accepted by a few receivers but not by others. This is the same for all adverts television program, movies and in fact many situations in life. So it is not only considered when using sex in adverts. However as sexual imagery is an issue that attracts more attention than other styles of ads the company must consider more what it is showing to its receivers e.g. older generations are not to fond of use of sex to sell. If they are targeting older people then it is not wise, as it will possibly get negative feedback. “Sex is a get way to get attention. It rarely fails as an attention getter. It’s a sure bet and a great way of getting through the clutter of advertisements. It plays on the most coercive emotions of all” Clearly from this statement we can see that the marketers feel that in today’s ever-competitive environment of advertising. With this statement in hand it appears that advertisers have a very good tool in which to sell their products. Certainly we have seen a higher profile of more seductive advertising over the past few years. Although researchers say not so much in terms of quantity but more in its directness. The use sexual imagery by advertisers is a great way of getting not only attention but also into its receiver’s minds. Lets take for example the average man in the street, most will either have girl friends, wife’s or be single young men looking for female attention. We can see there are two key sections here that advertisers can exploit. Most men can satisfy their sexual needs with their girlfriends or wife’s, however sexual imagery tries to satisfy their erotic fantasies. The imagery is likely to show wonderful looking women in amazing places doing amazing things something that most couples could only dream of. These images allow the receiver to connect that product with the images of fantasy they have just seen. With these images in mind the product advertised will at worse be remembered but at best hopefully purchased or desired. And now with changes in culture over the past 3 decades advertisements are also doing this to women. Take for example the coca cola advert this has a hunky young man that the women come to see at 11.30am everyday as he works. This clearly plays on the young ladies fantasy of finely toned, smooth, good looking men, when is it common that they will go home to an average looking slightly over weight husband or boyfriend. Although it is nice for us all to see these sexual images as a fantasy that the marketer is creating to sell its product it can actually cause problems. The use of slim beautiful women to sell low fat foods to people can be harmful. Women may feel the advertisement will make them look like this when in fact it may not. It is making people follow false dreams or hurting themselves. The article was produced by the member of masterpapers.com. Sharon White is a senior writer and writers consultant at term papers. If You Really Loved Me

By Vlady Peters While the search for love is universal and often thought to be synonymous with happiness, there seems something within the human psych that refuses to feel worthy of either. Somehow, no matter how well life treats lovers, they invariably manage to spoil it all by saying something stupid best unsaid. Its really like those horror stories were the heroine, in the middle of the night, in a haunted castle, in the middle of nowhere, decides she must investigate the noise downstairs. The audience screams their warning. Stay put! Hide under the bed! Lock the door! Do anything, but dont go downstairs. All to no avail. In her almost transparent nightie, with a flickering candle in her hand, against all common sense, she descends the stairs to the dungeon and danger below. So also in love. Somehow the beloved must always push just far enough to lose her love. And now that I think of it, it is inevitably the female who doesnt know when to leave well enough alone. In Wagners Lohengrin, Elsa is championed by a knight who after successfully defending her good name, asks for her hand in marriage. She is delighted to accept. And if you ever wanted to know where that popular wedding march comes from, it comes from this opera when the marriage between the unknown knight and Elsa takes place. But there are conditions. If Elsa and the knight are to be happy in marriage, she must trust him completely. Love him unconditionally. Accept him as she finds him right now without questions as to his past. She must never ask him what his name is, where he comes from or, in short, for any of his personal details. Interestingly enough, many couples make those same promises on their wedding day. I will love you unconditionally. I will let you be exactly what you are. I will not expect you to change simply because you are my legal partner. But from the frequent breakdown of marriage, its obvious that vows are simpler to express than to keep. And like Elsa, lovers find that what their partner is prepared to give, is never enough. In the end they lose what they have, in an effort to get more than they need. Vlady Peters is an Australian Civil Marriage Celebrant authorized to perform marriages in Australia. Making Toothpaste: A Fun Activity for Kids

By C. M. Clifton Are you looking for a fun activity that might be educational, too? Looking for a fun way to get kids to brush their teeth? Are you looking for just a fun activity? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then you might want to try your hand at making toothpaste. Materials Needed: bowls baking soda salt water food flavoring extract spoons sandwich bags Place baking soda, salt, and water in separate bowls. Assist the children in placing 4 teaspoons of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of water in individual sandwich bags. Add a drop of food flavoring extract, such as peppermint, mint, or orange. Let the children mix their own toothpaste in the sandwich bags. This activity is appropriate for children aged 6 and up. Always be sure to provide adult supervision. Whether you are a parent or a teacher who would like to utilize this activity, please also make sure that none of the children are allergic to any of the ingredients used in making the toothpaste. The educational benefits of this activity include engaging students so they will apply math concepts such as measuring, counting, and critical thinking. Some sample questions to ask the children: How many teaspoons did you use all together in making the toothpaste? Does the salt and the baking soda taste the same? How does the toothpaste taste? A variation of flavoring extracts can also be used. The kids could compare the different flavors, and then graph accordingly. For more family involvement, the kids might be allowed to match the type of flavoring with flavors sold in stores when the kids accompany parents during grocery shopping. Whether “Making Toothpaste” is used as a family activity or a classroom activity, its overall objective remains the same: to have fun. So, regardless of the reason why you might choose to use this activity, please remember to have fun with it. C. M. Clifton C. M. How To Create A Great Online Opener To Use When Emailing Women

By Teddy Shabba Even online men need to know effective ways to open women if he ever wants to have a chance of meeting her offline. Unlike meeting women offline however online you have the advantage of time and knowledge. When you see a woman online that you like the best thing to do is look over her profile and see what you want to use in it in order to attract her. When you do finally end up writing to her if you make sure you follow the steps listed below you should have yourself plenty of success online with women as well as off. 1st- Show You Are In The Know (In a Funny Way): Lets face it women receive tons of emails saying the same old things from men. Letting her know you know that’s what happens is a good way to establish a connection with her quickly. So how do you do this exactly? Look at her picture and write what you would say about it. 2nd- Make Yourself Larger than Life: Now that she knows that you know its time to make yourself out to be the biggest and greatest somebody there is. So much so that she says to herself “Is this guy for real”. Then you want to end it by describing in a few words or less the exact opposite as who you are. 3rd- Issue a Challenge: No matter how great the rest of your email is if you don’t give her a reason to respond she just might not. The best way to do that is by challenging something she wrote in her profile since odds are its something that she finds important. 4th- Give Her Your Email Address: A lot of women don’t pay for the service so the easiest way to make sure ALL women that you write to can contact you is by giving your email address at the end of your message. Now it is also important to remember that your goal should be to meet her offline so make sure that after your opening email all other emails and IM’s are leading to an offline meeting. Here is to your success as luck is no longer necessary. Wedding Planning For the Older Bride

By Glenna Tooman You have been alone for several years; now you have found that special someone with whom to share your life. As you begin your wedding planning, you will find that you have many more decisions to make than younger brides. Your body has changed and the gown that looks great on a 25 year-old will not look the same on a 50 year-old. You may have children and possibly grandchildren to consider. You may have a home and/or investments that you want to leave to your family. You or your groom may have health issues. All of these things and more need to be considered before you say I Do. Wedding Gown: Many older women find choosing a wedding gown to be the most difficult part of planning their wedding. Unless you work out regularly, you may not want a revealing gown like those found in most bridal salons. Instead, look for gowns designed for cruises and for party dresses or consider having a dress made. Children: If you have children, either still at home or grown, you will want to provide for their futures. If you have young children, you should have a will that includes guardianship provisions if something should happen to you. You may or may not want your new spouse to assume guardianship. Perhaps a sibling or your parents would be a better choice. Assets: You may want your personal assets, including investments and property, to go to your children in case of your death rather than to your new spouse and his children. If so, you should talk with an attorney and draw up both a will and a pre-marital agreement to assure that your wishes are fulfilled. Home/business: You and/or your future husband may own a home or a business. If one or both of you have homes, you will need to decide where you will live and what you will do with the other property. You might choose to live in one of the homes and either sell or rent the other. Or, you may decide to sell both homes and purchase one together. This is sometimes a better option if one or both of you lived in the home with a previous spouse. If one or both of you owns a business, you may need to contact an attorney to draw up a succession plan if you have not yet done so. The plan will include instructions about the future of the business, including future ownership and how the assets of the business will be handled. If the business is a sole proprietorship or a partnership, the business will automatically dissolve upon the death of the owner, so you will want to be prepared. Health: If one or both of you suffer from a long term health problem, you may need to determine how the expenses of the illness, as well as any future care needs, will be handled.
